Solo levelling webtoon/manhwa review

"Solo Leveling" is a South Korean webtoon that offers a thrilling adventure in a world overrun by monsters and nothing like our own. The story centers around Sung Jinwoo, a seemingly ordinary hunter struggling to survive in this dangerous environment littered and filled with deadly creatures. However, Jinwoo's life takes an unexpected turn when he unlocks a mysterious power that grants him the ability to grow stronger, a system that is unlike anything real.

The webtoon follows Jinwoo's journey as he trains relentlessly, honing his skills and confronting increasingly difficult challenges. His determination and perseverance as he strives to become a powerful hunter with this new system is amazing to read. But Solo Leveling isn't just about action, it explores themes of overcoming limitations, the importance of hard work, and the mystery surrounding the world, something that makes the webtoon stand out.

The artwork is captivating, bringing the world and characters to life with vivid detail. The fight scenes are exhilarating and showcase Jinwoo's evolving abilities. Whether you're a fan of action-packed adventures or intriguing mysteries, Solo Leveling offers a compelling story that will keep you hooked.

I personally really enjoyed the artwork, yet unfortunately I recently heard the artist for the webtoon, Seong-rak Jang passed away in 2022. Rest in peace, hunter. It is sad to know that, but that makes me appreciate the art all the more.

I found this to be a great webtoon. Here is what other internet users had to say:

"It's basically In-N-Out. Decently good fast food, but at the end of the day it's still fast food."

"The best way I can describe it is generic done right. The manwha knows it has the rule of cool going for it, so it just rolls with it and never really strays."

"It's carried by art style"

Whilst I do agree with these to some extent, I believe all those who wrote these comments are probably seasoned readers, and therefore they have gotten bored of the 'quest system' 'levelling up' style webtoons, and that is why they are not so thrilled about "Solo Levelling". However, for newer readers, this is a great webtoon to get you into that genre. Overall, I would rate this a 8/10!
